Sally worked as a Naturopath at the North Coast Medical Centre, Integrative Medicine Clinic from 2003 until 2008. She is also co-director and convenor of The Byron Integrative Medicine Conferences. She obtained yoga teacher certification, through the Ishta system, in 2006. She gained her Bachelor of Naturopathy in 2002 from Southern Cross University, the first Australian university to provide Naturopathy at University level. She won the Warren Brauer memorial prize for excellence in Homoeopathy at graduation. Sally obtained a Diploma of Remedial Massage from Australasian College of Natural Therapies, Sydney in 1998, simultaneously working for Greenpeace and Planet Ark. In 1993, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Melbourne University, with majors in Political Psychology and Art history. She is constantly awed by the human ability to heal and learn.
